The Pizza Factory in Yerington announced today that it's sponsoring Desert Dingo Racing at the Memorial Day VORRA Yerington 300 and is offering all race teams and fans a special deal on pizzas delivered to the race track.

“The Yerington 300 is a great way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend and we wanted to do something for the all the race teams and who come out for the event," said Larry Boyce, owner of the Pizza Factory restaurant at 120 N. Main Street in Yerington.

Boyce is offering race teams and fans three specials for the weekend. They include:

  • “The Yerington 300 Special” – a large three-topping pizza for $9.99.

  • “The Racer Special” – an extra large two topping pizza, a dozen chicken wings, breadsticks and a two-liter bottle of soda for $24.99

  • If you want to order off the menu, Boyce is offering race teams and fans a 10% discount on their order.

The Pizza Factory is right down the street from where VORRA will be doing Tech on Saturday. The specials and discount are good for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the race weekend. Pizza Factory will also deliver to the pits at no extra charge. Phone orders can be placed by calling 775-463-1999.

Boyce is also sponsoring Desert Dingo Racing, a Baja 1000 race team that competes locally in the Stock Bug class. The team's '69 VW Beetle is one of several competing in the Stock Bug class as part of the Valley Off Road Racing Association (VORRA) 2010 season.

“Larry’s a long time race fan and we really appreciate his support,” said Desert Dingo Racing co-founder Jim Graham. "Being able to order pizza and have it delivered to the pits is a tremendous time saver and allows us to focus on prepping the car between races."

The Desert Dingo race car and drivers will be at the Pizza Factory outlet from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday night, signing autographs and handing out hero cards.

Desert Dingo Racing campaigns a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle in off road races in the U.S. and Mexico. The team is the official World Diabetes Day Baja 1000 race team and works with the International Diabetes Federation to raise money for diabetes education and awareness programs. Two Desert Dingo team members have Type 2 diabetes and several other team members have a history of the disease in their families. The team makes the car available for public events and distributes thousands of hero cards with the warning signs of diabetes printed on the back in English and Spanish.

The white No. 1107 VW will sport Pizza Factory logos and the team will distribute "Yerington Special" promotional flyers at the event.

About Yerington Pizza Factory
Yerington Pizza Factory is located at 120 Main Street in Yerington. The phone number is 775-463-1999.

The first Pizza Factory opened its doors in 1979 in Oakhurst, California (near the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park). Because of Pizza Factory's reputation for quality pizzas, simplicity of concept and median cost of operation, several more Pizza Factories were added. Partners Dan Wheeler and Ron Willey began franchising the business in 1985.

Today there are over 140 restaurants in 10 western states. Pizza Factory opportunities are available in both small towns and metropolitan communities. The flexibility of three restaurant sizes has enabled our company to accommodate any location.
