Is this thing on?
A good chunk of the team are burners, so we’ve agreed to take this week off and hit the ground running after Labor Day.
I’m only out there for two days, so I spent some time doing more sanding on 1117.

Why people with short attention spans shouldn’t paint cars
We’ve selected artist Gore.b to paint 1117. He’s had exhibits in Philadelphia, NYC and Santa Cruz. He’s also been involved in an artist collective, the Endless Love Crew, that does collaborative pieces. There’s a great video of “The Cube” here.

Kevin at Skip’s Tires in Scotts Valley has offered to help us with the BF Goodrich All Terrain TA 235/75/15’s, which are about the largest tires you can wedge onto a Class 11 VW.

Transworks has shipped our transmission. Eric Solorzano has dropped our pristine engine block off with the mill shop. Skid’s picking up the fuel cell next week. And latest team addition Scottie Chapman boxed the rear trailing arms.

Watch out NASCAR
Because I’m a spaz (as previously noted), I opted to have Melissa with Business With Pleasure apply the Desert Dingo website url to 1117. My only request was that it be “big”. Driving home I had cars half a mile away honking and waving.
